2-5 year olds

Aside from focusing on the 8 areas of learning, we also provide the opportunity to engage in structured and planned activities such as baking, handwriting, counting games and many other creative activities. Staff plan for the week we take on board each child’s interest, which is a chosen activity by the children. 

We keep in touch with the local community by taking the children out on visits to the shops, library and local parks. We also have visits into nursery from the local Policemen, Fire Service and Dental Hygienist. Children have extra curriculum activities we have Multi Sports with Owen and his team who once a week to do active sports games with the children, we also have ballet classes for the children, and Bilingual stories and singing class once a week.

Activities

Yep, your child will be prepping for Reception in preschool in order to get the best headstart.

Part of our pre-math building skills will also include learning about basic shapes and their properties.

Exploring colours and colour schemes to help encourage imagination and creativity.

Letter recognition and correct pronunciations 

To encourage your child’s social skills and working as part of a team.

Encouraging independent  problem solving and critical thinking.  

Extra curricular Activities

Little Footsteps Nursery compliments our curriculum by offering a wide range of extra-curricular activities, which vary depending upon which nursery your child attends. We believe that this enhances children’s experiences and skills and supports them in all areas of their development. Our parents find these sessions very helpful as it saves them having to find suitable activities at weekends and outside of the nursery hours. All our extra-curricular activities are provided by suitably qualified professionals who are fully compliant with our Safeguarding Children Policies. An example of some of our extra-curricular activities include; French, Spanish, Yoga, Football and Ballet.

In addition to extra-curricular activities delivered by qualified professionals Little Footsteps Nursery also provides in-house small group sessions that enhance and develop specific areas of children’s learning and development. These sessions vary depending upon which
nursery your child attends and may be offered to children in specific age groups. An example of these sessions are; Jolly Phonics, Time to talk, Maths Fit and Explorers Group. We believe that offering children the ability to participate in stimulating activities as part of a small group helps them to develop self-confidence alongside social

Aside from the above we provide nutritious meals for all of our children in line with any dietary or religious requirements.
